Default Sound Quality

Has anyone noticed an improvement in pipe sound with age or miles?

some people say certain pipes like screamin eagle get louder with age but i doubt it.when you take baffles out there all steel.nothing changes.but if you have fiberglass wrapped baffles then yes they will get louder as the fiberglass thins out.

I've had several new pipes on a few different bikes and I would say the sound changes after maybe 1000 miles or so. I figure it's whatever gunk builds up in the pipes. Unless it's just in my head I would say they start sounding a little deeper and less tin-like. Overall I always rated the sound as 'better' then when just installed. It's not too drastic but noticable.

My Heritage Classic stock pipes have definitely become louder; especially rolling on in 5th gear.

Mine gets louder every time I ride it lately. I have been wanting louder pipes, but now I might wait a little longer. I never wanted loud pipes, just hate the vw bug sound it came with.

Maybe I'm just hopeful, but it seems that way anyhow.
