Spring Solo Seat for 07 Fatboy
Anyone put a spring solo on their 07 Fatboy?
I'm familiar with RSD's conversion kit, but at $600
it seems "unadjustable" and short on the battery
cover......
Any recommendations onOther conversion kits?
Would the Crossbones seat work?....
Any pics of anyone who has done it?
How do you think it would look?

Yeah, I've been researching what it will take for my 07' Deluxe. All the kits available that have frame covers only cover the battery and not the ECM, so they are not for EFI models. Even any of the frame cvoers being sold separatley are for non-efi scoots. BUT, to the rescue is west-eagle. They have a couple of kits, with the frame cover made of fiberglass which covers the battery and ECM. The part number are H2286 and H2392. Both have all the components you need: springs, tbar for seat, support bracket, etc. Check it out : http://www.west-eagle.com/07catalog/index.html, page 9. Also, jammerclub shows H2286 with their own part number: 632490, see http://www.jammerclub.com/catalogs/j...ull.asp?page=6. Kits are $259, not including seat. I fired an email off to west-bay (makers of the kits), and they said H2286 will fit our scoots. I fired another asking what the difference in both kits are, since H2392 says "new for 2007 and up softails". No response as of yet. I\'ll keep you posted.
Another idea I have, and got this from another forum member TRat, is to make your own frame cover out of fiberglass. Problem here would be locating the correct hardware, mainly the support bracket the attached to the frame, and where the springs will attach. I think the TBar for the seat and rest of hardware can be found. Check TRat's tutorial at: http://imperialgunnercorps.netfirms....rame_cover.htm. I may go with this method since not in a hurry to change out seat.
Let's kepts eachother posted on this issue. The Solo spring seat conversion is getting more attention and popular. After seeing TRat's scoot, you'll know why!!!

RE: Spring Solo Seat for 07 Fatboy
DaFatBoy, I printed H2392 at work. I was like a flyer. the printout doesn;t have a footer with website info on it. So, I can;t remember how I got there in the first place. I would just call JPCycles and ask for both part numbers, and maybe they have a picture of H2392. The frame cover looks a little different, more like the Crossbones; flat black. I'll scan the sheet I got and post it tomorrow night.
Another option, is going with a complete Crossbones setup. another member modified the frame cover a little bit to fit his 05' Springer. Check it out https://www.hdforums.com/m_3008629/tm.htm.
I got the parts breakdown on the Crossbones setup. Going to see what $$$ that brings in...

Hey thanks ronyd.......
I really like the H2286 with the ECM cover, and that looks like the way to go so far.....
Not really into " Custom " fabing everything.....
Would be interested in Crossbones setup, but it doesn't look as clean as the H2286......

Here's the other H2392 kit pic.
Also, I got another idea. Can maybe use this kit 840-117: http://www.jpcycles.com/catalog/2008HarleyCatalog/0142.asp. Its got a real nice SS frame cover. All you need is to have a cover made for the ECM. I need to contact JP and find out what exactly this kit has for mount hardware. Can;t tell by description.
