Default Question from a Newbie

Hey Ya'll, I have a question for all you pipe fanatics. I just bought this 04 NT. I bought it from a woman who's man left her, so she ended up with the bike. (sucks to be him now) Anyhow, the bike supposedly has a big bore kit in it, aftermarket cams, etc..Well, I am not sure what kind of pipes are on it. It says Vance and Hines on the heat shields, but I am not up on the bike stuff yet. Anyhoo, there are no baffles in them and it is extremely loud. I would like to baffle it down some. Any ideas of what type they look like? Baffle recomendations?? Hope this thread doesnt make me sound like an idiot! Just looking for some help.....Thanks!

putting baffles in an exhaust may have a bad effect, it'll sound like ****. secondly if it had all those mods done, you'll choke your engines power. if it does have v&h pipes you may have luck searching through some v&h catalogs for some slip fit mufflers which will tone down the rumble to something you like. ultimately if you are looking for a sound it's pretty much trial and error.

I think there V & H Stepped Drag Pipes, check out http://www.vanceandhines.com/ I think they make Quiet baffles for them, you'll have to do your homework.Assuming thats carbed there may be some rejetting to do, or if its fuel injected re-mapped. Either or, you might think of getting new pipes and a dyno, which is probably the best way.

Thank goodness for friends with Harleys. I was just given a set of 2" Porkers (brand new!) plus a set of 9" pull backs (being that I am vertically challenged). I will post an updated pic soon!!
