Stock Fat Boy seat, no passenger pillion question please...
Any other Fat Boy owners out there riding or have ridden with their stock seat with the passenger pillion removed? \\;\\\\\\; And if so, did you remove the seat strap, tuck under seat, leave it exposed up top? \\;\\\\\\; Any problem with removing the strap by removing the entire housing that holds it with the bolts on each side that require an allen wrench?
Thanks for any input.

just remove your strap, take out the two bolts on the struts and remove the strap reinstall the bolt with loktite and torque them. the only thing the strap does in give a hand hold, I dont know anyone who uses it, or keep people from stealing your seat.

I removed my passenger seat. Harley came out with a fender bib for the Fat Boy. It is in their 2008 supplement to the catalog.
Remove the pass seat, add the fender bib and replace the two stock grab bolts with some chrome acorn nuts and you are good to go.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll definitely be getting rid of the strap. \\; Since gas prices have gone through the roof, I've been riding it almost every day for my commute to work. \\; I also have a Harley Stripper seat but it's not the most comfortable seat for a lot of stop and go driving in metro Atlanta. \\; Would start getting a little crotch numbness by the time I'd get to the office so I put the stock seat back on.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Check the laws in your state, some states require the grab strap if you have a passenger with you. \\; Took my strap off in Ohio but have a sissy bar the passenger can hold on to so I have been told that I should be ok with that.
