Default Fork leg pinch bolt size

Just noticed that I have a broken pinch bolt for my fork leg, managed to get the broken piece out.Thought I would remove the one from the other leg and just get a bolt to match, well the other bolt is broken as well.So what I need to know is what is the length of the bolt supposed to be,I know that it is 5/16 dia. and is supposed to be grade 5,just need the length.
The bike is a 1994 FLSTC

Regards

Wayne

Are you talking about the bolt on the lower tree, with the head of the bolt facing forward? That one is common to see broken.

I don't have a parts manual with me. I'm fairly sure it is a 7/16" fine thread. Can you use the old threads that you pulled out as a guide?

It is part #4729 Bolt,7/16-20 x1 1/4hex.hd(grade 5 steel) in the parts manual 95-96. This for a 1995 Heritage Softail .
