Stealer should replace free of charge. It's a reusable filter that shouldn't rot. They have a "new" black ring filter instead of the old blue ring that isn't suppose to fall apart. I HAD one, noticed HAD. It fell apart too. I bought a K&N but still had stealer replace so I can ride while the K&N dries when I clean it.

Yea, Get the K&N. I got 25000 on mine and looks new. Garrenteed for million miles. Washed mine in Dawn and warm h2o last night and reoiled it. I do quite often as it runs uncovered year round.

K&N all the way, when you order the one for your bike you may as well order on for every vehicle you own.

Do you ride in the rain very much? I'm thinking of going uncovered with my K&N, but I ride in the rain a lot.

Cheers!

I ride with my K&N exposed on my train and have been caught in the rain a few times. It doesn't bother it unless you're caught in an insane downpour. They make filter covers, but I don't have one. What I actually do is, I stole some of the wife's pantyhose and keep them in the tool bag. They work well in a pinch to use as a rain sleeve over the filter. So far I have about 4,000 miles with the exposed filter and have not had any problems, although it doesn't rain in Texas nearly as often as up there.
