i am thinking of buying the harley sundowner seat for my 08 heritage... any current/former owners have opinions/thoughts on these seats for both short (around town) and long (multistate cruising) rides?

 

I put one on my 02 fatboy,the fall of 05....and I like it.
I rode non stop to Myrtle Beach,SC from South Boston,Va. in the Spring of 06 with no issues

Of course ,I never had any issues with the stock one,but the pillion broke loose from the saddle...and I saw an oppportunity [8D]

 

I have had the sundower on my sporty and now on my standard. Definatly worth the money but do have on note to say it moves you forward a couple of inches so need ensure that won't cause your controls to be uncomfortable after that. But as on seat comfort they are a good seat.

 

A shop by my house that builds iron horse bikes put cilicone in your seats and re-cover them. I think i might do it. Like sitting on pamela anderson's chest !

 

Would look better on your Heritage than my Deuce , only use mine on rides with the Wife - much more comfy for her than the stocker . Can't say the same for myself , the raised edges on the driver part dig into the back of my thighs/*** everytime I have to stop and put my feet down ,&nbsp\\;might be better for the long haul . It is sooooo UGLY on my&nbsp\\; Deuce that it comes off as soon as the Wife/I return from a ride !

 

Bought a used sundowner for my 06 RKC from a member here. I installed it just in time to make the 3.5 hour ride to the ROT rally. Put a lot of miles on it that weekend, it was very comfortable and the wife likes the passenger seat as well.

 

Have no prob with mine...moves you up about an inch but also drops you an inch or so...I love mine..

 

10k miles on my Sundowner (deep bucket version) on my Springer Classic and it's perfect.&nbsp\\; I throw on my stripper seat for short around the town riding, but the Sundowner is a must for any weekend trips / extended length rides.

 

I have one for my two-up riding setup (08 Deluxe). It's comfy and has really great back support. I could ride for miles. The lady likes it way more than the deluxe touring pillion too (that made her slide forward). I think it looks pretty ugly, but im hoping once i have bags on it will look better. Less fat on the sides. The passenger backrest helps it look a little better too. It's just a really&nbsp\\;big seat.

 

+1 on it's looks... it's a fat couch cushion... but it does the job in a most excellent manner.
