Default 2003 Heritage Softail Classic

Am considering purchase of a Gray and Black with 14K miles for $14K.&nbsp\\; Are there any issues on this model and vintage that I should be concerned about?

Hello auereq,
&nbsp\\;
You could probably do $1,000-$2,000 better on price if buying from a dealer. And probably even&nbsp\\;more if buying from a private party.

I agree w/ Bloomington.
I bought my 03 last october &amp\\; got it for around $13k (seller wanted $14.5k for it)
It only had 5400 miles on it at the time.
Seller also threw in anniversary cover, original pipes (bike had screaming eagles installed) &amp\\; a helmet.
&nbsp\\;
Call a dealer or stop in a local dealership &amp\\; see what they would offer for it on trade.
Then offer them $500 over that.
Good luck.
&nbsp\\;
Oh &amp\\; no issues with mine &amp\\; I have put 2k miles on it since October!!

To address your question about the "issues" with the '03 Heritage, I bought mine new and it has 60K miles on it. I replaced the cam chain tensioners at 50K miles and I've had no problems with the bike to speak of. If I could find another, clean, low mileage, one I'd buy it.&nbsp\\;

the heritage is a great bike... for 14k, consider spending 2 or 3k more and buying a new one. the payments wont be that much higher

Cool 2003 Heritage Softail classic will start and then die right after a short while

before I changed the fuel filter and checkvalve hose .... she was running fine for the past few days but today she died on me with the following symptoms:
it was as thow she was running out of gas, backfired and just didn't get anymore fuel. after bringing her home on a trailer I started her with no problems but died again after a few seconds. Tank is 3/4 full and all fuses are ok. I can hear the fuel pump but it is not the squealing sound as before.
Maybe a hint ...

can you give me an idea what problem might be and how to solve it. Is there anyone out there who had same trouble ?

Thanks Robby

It sounds overpriced, I have an 02 Heritage Springer that I wouldn't get $14k for and the Springer is worth more. I think closer to $10k is the right price.

Just replaced my check valve a few weeks back and had the same issues. Replaced the heat temp sensor and runs like a champ again!
