Just thinking of some ways to do mods more cost effectively so thought I'd see about this. I don't like the dull flat black calipers but would it be feasible to powdercoat the calipers a gloss black. I know I would have to put all new pads, seals, etc. Since I have some black parts on my bike, I thought it may be a cost effective alternative to chrome and it should look good too. I could also add some chrome floating rotors and the chrome caliper hardware for contast. Would this work? How hard is rebuilding the caliper (new pads, seals, etc.)?
I was thinking the same thing. there is a yellow fatboy on eBay with yellow calipers. looks good. I called and asked our local powder-coater yesterday, he said 100 each if I took them a part first.

that sounds steep, my local guy charged me $15.00 for my a/c cover and $10-15 for my horn cover. If you are doing the labor on the disassembly, then what is charging so much for. I had to wait a couple weeks because my guy threw my parts in with some large automotive parts he was doing, but the wait was worth it.

thanks I have never used a powder coater before. I was telling my wife he seemed really high. there is a guy in okc, who sets up a booth at the shows, seems to be good.
