If you paid through PayPal, you are covered and can file a claim "Item not as described". Easy to do, will give seller a chance to make it right. If item was not as described, you'll get your money back, but will take a while.

Bought a couple of motherboards for computers on ebay. Always had good luck. Sorry your luck is different.

I get most of my harley stuff on ebay. If it says "new in box", or "new with tags", I expect it to be perfect. Anything else is used (like new, almost new, etc.) and I expect a little wear and tear--no matter what the seller says. Used is OK if the price is right--like half the price of new or less.

Its all about having the right expectations.

It's 50-50 with Ebay. I have orderd many things from them and got it as listed, but my wife ordered a hard to find bed and got ripped off. We our money back, but it took awhile.

Yes no problems on ebay for me so far, also you did not say if you contacted seller (or i didn't read that). There are just as many buyers that are dirt bags, get parts, drop them, ohhhh damn it came this was and send stuff back. So it's a tough deal. The seller had 100% feedback, you need to at least give him the chance to respond, if not you better stick to buying at the dealer where you can see the wares.

It happens sometimes but you can't let it ruin it for you. Lots of great deals to be found.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Like others have said see if you can work it out with seller or file a formal dispute. I've got my fairing and Mustang seat through ebay and saved alot of dough with no bad experiences yet but it can happen.

hope you all get these problems resolved. I haven't had many transactions but all have been positive so far.

thanks for the heads up.

Buying unseen is like sending money out random to names and addresses in the phone book and "eBay" is top of the list for scams.
They own PayPal as well and collect from both seller and buyer. Double dipping like the gov's do with taxes. Tax you heavy the first time for a "service", then tax you again to use the service you pay taxes for the same service.
I never use ebay and especially never use PayPal.
