Default Oil Filter Change - No Mess..

Thought some of you gaget minded would like this..

I personally just cut a Quart Plastic Milk container and slip it under. Seems to work real well.

Another thing that will help with the mess is to punch a hole in the end of the oil filter. Most of the oil will run out. When you screw the filter off the engine you will not get that half cup of oil running all over. I just use a philips screw driver and a hammer to punch the hole, the metal can that contains the filter is pretty soft, it doesn't take much to put a hole in it.

I lay a sheet of aluminum foil under the filter in the shape of a funnel and then punch the hole in the bottom of the filter. Oil drains into the pan. Nice and neat.

Warped minds must think alike, I use an old 2 liter soda bottle cut down to fit.
Didn't cost me $20+ and if I loose or misplace it, there's at least a dozen more in the bin in the garage. I save the screw top half gallon and gallon milk bottles to store the old oil in until I can drop it off at the store.

I do a little cuttin and twisting for oil changes as well.... I cut a check to buy a bike and twisted their arm on the haggle and got free oil changes for life.
