Default Heritage for touring

Would a Heritage be a good touring bike, say in the same category as a Road King?

Yep.. should be good for touring... now that I have
a 16"wheel on the front of my NT I feel comfortable touring anywhere..
Did an 8 day 3,000 mile trip out to the grand canyon without a hitch..

To be perfectly honest:
1 up - YES - seat to bars to floorboards comfy.
2 up - NO - Pillions will always suck for distance. Wives/GF's need that Road Sofa.

Unless you install a Mustang pad n backrest. My wife can go all day now, compared to 20 minutes w/ the stock set up.

I have owned both type of bikes and found the heritage to be okay for touring but the road king was better in my opinion...

For Long Distance with a passenger = Heritage

For Longer Distance with a passenger = RoadKing

I toured solo last summer on an 08 Heritage and loved it... except for the 5 gal. tank. My buddy had a 24 l. (6+ gal.) tank and it bugged me to be the one looking for the next gas station. We did two 4500+ km rides and it was always me pulling over for fuel. So I'm looking at an EGS for next summer. We are going cross country and I don't want to be constantly looking at the GPS for the next fuel stop.

I did the mustang change over still find the pillion is not that conducive to long trips. but on the whole, yeah, it's easy to put 600 miles on in a day without too much wear and tear on the old bones.
