Definitely rides better lowered. I used the arlen ness kit and had it at 1.5. Looked good and rode pretty good but not good enough.

the ness kit only costs around $139 and many guys can install it themselves. plus, it doesnt really affect your stock ride because you arent changing springs. you are just changing their location. i noticed no ride change other than having to go slower over speed bumps & draggin chrome every now and then. but the bike looks 100% better and i'm short so i feel more comfortable on it. i bet the air ride is nice if you want to put a pasenger on the back though...

I just bought my 2001 FXSTDI about a month ago and it had air ride shocks on it. It has an onboard compressor that allows me to adjust the height as I go with a toggle switch. I can’t give you information as to how much they are or where he got them but I’m sure if you Google them you’ll get more vendors then you can use.
