Can someone explain the symbols in general? FL? FX? And so on. Just curious. I know I have a FLSTNI. Thanks

did you not get a manual with your bike?, if you look in it you will find the letters for all bikes and what they stand for, a little reading is a good thing

FL=touring front end
FX=sport bike front end
ST=softail rear
H=touring bike rear
N=nostalgia/deluxe depending on the year
I=fuel injected.
R=Roadking on some models, and Rubbermounted engine on some models
C=Classic
T=touring
U=ultra
WG=wideglide front end
LR=lowrider
D=dyna
There are a lot or varying examples but this will get you started.

If you have an FLSTNI you have a FL(touring frontend) with an ST(softail swingarm) that is a N(Nostaliga if it is an older bike, and Deluxe if it is a new model), and it is I(fuel injected).

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Bill
