Default Yet another forward control question

I have been searching most of last night and this morning for more information on extended forward controls. 2004 FXSTS and I am 6'3. I really do not want to pay the 400-500 dollars for HD or kuryakyn kits. I do see that many people have the Arlen Ness kits and it seems that they are right around 200 bucks, but I just cant seem to find the item I need in chrome. Below is a link to some I found...if they had this in chrome (basically the plates) I would be all over it.

I anyone knows of an affordable place to purchase chrome ones please let me know...and post pics of yours!!!

TIA

at first i wanted chrome as well. but once i got the ness kit i liked the black. it blends in with the frame and you don't even see the kit. buy the ness kit you'll be happy.

I definitely agree, 06DEUCE... I got the black for the exact same reason, trying to keep all the frame components black. Although, I am thinking about upgrading my levers to something in a chrome finish.

Back to your question 04Springer: I did a quick search (I mean QUICK) and couldn't find anything online at JP Cycles or the Ness website. I don't think that anybody makes that extension plate in chrome for cheaper than H-D or Kuryakyn (Kuryakyn usually has the least expensive parts, compared to others). Think about going black though... just think you can save that extra $300 + change to add some more chrome elsewhere!

try this guy on ebay, I know these are for up to 1999, but he may have the new ones as well. I'd call him.

Just buy the black ones and have them chromed. I live near St. Louis, a place here charges $50 to chrome a caliper, that sure beats paying $400 for a chrome caliper. You can probably send stuff to them. www.stlplating.com

I purchased the Kuryakyn kit from mandmcycles;$325 shipped to my door. They make the bike so much more comfortable, and I`m only 6ft tall.
I personally like the polished look.I`m one of those guys that can never have enough shiny stuff.

I bought a set of the Ness controls on eBay...Check out this auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NESS-...QQcmdZViewItem

I bought a set from this guy last week for $158 *delivered to my doorstep in ~5 working days*. You might be able to get the stuff plated for around $30 if you know somebody...I got some good installation info from Unibomber and others. I will attempt installation sometime next week. Looks pretty simple to do.

Good luck.
