Default seat swap

I just bought an '03 FXSTSI and the previous owner had replaced the original seat with some aftermarket (explitive). I found a guy locally who has an OEM seat from his '06 Softail Standard. Can I use this on my bike? If anyone has an OEM seat for the '03 Springer I would be interested. Thanks.

what was the manufacturer of the seat? No offence, but the OEM seats are not very comfortable.

06 seat wont fit a 03 bike as the FXST went to 200 rear. I wouldnt get a standard seat unless you only do under 50 miles...numb bum time. I hate mine, its the next thing I change

the 06 seat is for a 200mm tire has mentioned above, this means the bolt hole will be 3/4" further back on your 03 due to the tire size difference.

I went by my local dealership today to get a few new bolts (the previous owner striped a few heads). While there he told me he had a 100th anniversary seat that they'd ordered for a customer over a year ago and he hadn't come to get it. I got it for $160 (with the emblem in the seat). I've been riding for 24 years. 37 states and 6 countries later and I still prefer a solid saddle. I started wearing bicycling shorts years ago with my rigids and on longer trips they still do the trick for me. I've never liked the look or feel of the "pillow" seats. I put the new one on while still at the shop and then gave it a 100 mile burn in. Feels great. Thanks for the info on the '06 switch.
