Default Floorboards on my Custom

Been thinking about possibly getting some floorboards for my new Custom. They would probably be used more for the long rides than the everyday around town rides. Im just curious where I could find some floorboards that would just mount up to where the stock location is (or if something like this even exists). Im not really familiar with floorboards as I have always ridden with pegs, so Im not even sure what to google.

Has anyone here ever swapped out OEM pegs for floorboards? I'd really like it if it was just a simple swap of the peg for the board using the same mounting location.

Someone point me in the right direction.

You will need the floorboard brackets if you plan on mounting stock floorboards.

Is it possible to mount them on a 09 Custom? Like I said before, I don't really know about floorboards. Would you be able to tell me what part numbers I need for the mounts and floorboards? Basically everything I would need to have floorboards.

Find some body near you that has a Fatboy and wants to swap to pegs. Its actually a common thing so with a little patience, you should be able to find some one.

I don't know if the newer softails use the smae floorboard brackets as the older ones. Most parts seem to be 1984-1999, 2000-2006, and 2007 and up. I fall in the middle category, so the first thing you need to do is figure out if the setup is the same on the newer bikes, then get the part number for the part (brackets) and then get the floorboards and mount them up.

Your softail custom is a new take on a classic chopper look; you sure you want to put floorboards on it? Check out Kuryakyn switchblades:
http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go...ID/14/IMID/623

These bolt right onto your peg mounts, and the heel rests swing down when you want them, up when you don't. Best of both worlds.

Take a look at the Kuryakyn ISO wing mini boards they are a straight swap for normal footpegs. Look good too

Also look at the Kuryakan Swing Wings. Closed they are the size of floorboards, open they give you a 3 inch extended peg (like having highway begs and floorboards in 1). I have them on my 07 custom and love em!
