The old idle speed hawg sound

I read somewhere that if the idle speed is too low, you run the risk of not enough oil pressure to keep things lubed properly. True or not?

Positively true.
EFI's have to idle 900 + to keep the correct oil pressure running.
You can achieve some of the lope sound by using a different cam like Andrew stated but it will never sound like one of the old EVO motors.
