Talking Jockey shift install with pictures

Anyone with a jockey shift with foot clutch, I'm looking into getting one but would like to see a complete install, with pictures, to see what I would be looking at, as far as difficulty, parts needed and tools. Also cost and what brand of shifter...Thanks

i have a Labriola Jockey Shift on my ride. works like a charm. i've had no problems with it in the two years i have been using it. i forget how much, but i think it was around $300 for the foot clutch/jockey shift assembly.

There isnt many folks producing a quality piece right now. The guy who is makes the best one on the market. La Briola machine outta Denver Colorado. His stuff is the best. You can find him here:http://lajockeyshifter.com/

They cost $300.00 plus you will need a shift ****.

I installed mine a few months ago. Its badass and I'll never go back to the standard setup.

Not much to document as far as the install as its so simple.....

All you do is remove the stock shifter and shift rod. Bolt the La Jockey piece to the lever coming outta yer tranny remove your peg brace deal and put the LA Jockey piece behind it.

You then route the clutch cable to your tranny and may hafta remove your pipes to get the cover off depending on whatcha got on the bike. If those are short shots in your sig pic you may be able to pull your cover without removing the pipes. Once the cover is off you will need a pair of C-Ring pliers to install the new cable.

The most time consuming deal for me was grinding down my OEM clucth perch so I could rtaim an OEM look and use a mormal mirror.

I used my shift lever as the clutych lever as they are all 3/8 splined shaft. I alos used my own peg and sent my kit supplied peg over to Hawaii for testing by a fellow Jockey-Man.

I adjusted the clutch til I got it where I liked the release point and also adjusted my clucth at the nut behind the cover. Since I was there I drained and replaced my old tranny fluid with fresh good shock proof stuff.

This is an easy peasy 1-2 hour job total if you take your time. I think a guy could do it in 25 minutes if he didnt hafta remove his pipes!

Thanks for all the info, I have about $3500 worth of mods to do this winter. Jockey shift, open primary and springer front end. I'm just trying to find out as much info on all this stuff, before I drop this kind of money.

sounds like my kind of ride. If you're installing the open primary, the jockey shift/foot clutch is the least of your worries. LOL!

Amen to that....

I just missed a brand new in the box unused 3" BDL with cover and everything for $400 OBO on Denver Craigslist....Guy said he posted it and 10 minutes later it was sold.

In a way I was glad. Didnt really want to start on that project right now!!

not a great picture... only one I have...
I do have Harley Goodies floorboard extensions...
if not the clutch would be over the floorboard more...
I have it adjusted so that the clutch is completely disengaged when the pedal touches the floorboard
