Default shortshots too short?

Anyone running Vance&Hines short shots staggered have any problems with a passenger getting a hot foot? They look like they would melt your heel! Love the look of the pipes, but don't think the wife wants her foot roasted!

I'm running those pipes. Had your wife on there a couple times and she didn't seem to mind them

Ha. but seriously, I've had a couple passengers. One chick was wearing shorts. Asked her if the pipe was bothering her. She didn't seem to mind it.

A wife with more riding experience and no inhibitions when it comes to complaining may feel different though.

I have the same pipes on my train and I haven't had that problem...not like I could hear them complaining even if it did bother them! My short shots do double as a cigarette lighter if you bring the engine up to about 4k rpm's and back off the throttle...(won $20 in a betcha-it-won't scenario)

I know I don't have the same bike nor the same pipes. But my stock pipes were so much hotter than my V&H sideshots. I can even touch the side sides about 10 minutes after riding. with the stock setup you couldn't dare touch the heat sheild within 40 minutes of parking
