200/50/17r
Yep, I been runnin Shinko ever since the OEM Dunflop wore out. Been gettin around 5500-6000 miles out of 200/50/17. Much better grip in dry and wet riding. A big plus is that with the shorter sidewall it changes the over all gearing just enough that 6th gear is much more useable. Check out bikebandit.com for prices.
your in luck. i just put on the new dunlop roadsmart tire. it has hard center tread and soft sides. so far it handles great and smoother too. i also changed the front to the avon storm

I've got a little over 10k kms/6300miles on it so far and it still looks good.
It was a nice improvement over the stock Dunlop.
the shorter tire makes the gear ratio just right. it changed the speed 3mph at 60 and gives a lot better power range. because i have a thundermax i can adjust the speedometer and have it accurate. i has a metzler 210 50 and it lasted 4700 miles but road great. i am hoping this new dunlop will last 9000. cobra is a little pricey $208, the roadsmart was $144
