'03 FLSTCI....
Would like to have some custom paint, but thinking that scraping off the 100yr. paint would probably be a bad idea
So I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good source for some bare metal. I've seen some aftermarket clean (no holes) front fenders, but I'm wondering where to a get rear fender and a tank (compatable with EFI). Is Harley the only source for this?
Try e-bay. I know i have seen sheetmetal already painted on e-bay. Also try some of the custum paint companys that deal with motorcycles. Maybe they could help. Do a search on computer for paint companys and bike builders might help too.
Great idea. But it brings me to another question.... does anyone know if carb vs efi affects the tank, or do the fittings for the efi screw into the same kind of hole as the petcock on a carb bike does? I've heard conflicting things about this.
IOW, would a take-off tank from a 2000-2005 carb bike work with my 2003 efi?
yeah, I have their paper catalogue, and just looked online.. and I'm either stupid, blind, or they don't have anything that specifically says it will work on a 2003 FLSTCI. I don't want a stretched tank, cuz I don't want to modify my seat. I just want a direct replacement so I can put some custom paint on my bike. So far, it looks like ebay take-offs might be my best bet, but the ones I've seen have gone for more than I would've figured. I'm sure I'll find something eventually
