cleaning what method?
I got a can of the s100 aerosal, it sprays on easy but it foams up too much to really soak into the dirty parts. The squirt bottles definately work better.
I spray my fatty with S100, leave it for 10 mins ( Go have a cup of Tea, or coffee ) rinse it off then a good soap wash with an auto soap, Simonize or Harley, dry and polish. I do the underside too, Must pay off as I did the same with my last bike, a Dyna, had it 18 months and when I sold it I got exactly what I paid for it when I bought it new, RESULT. Yes I do ride in the rain, In Manchester its so wet we all have webbed feet .

alcohol-based all-wheel cleaner sprayed on wheels, brakes, lower frame, chrome and underneath...wait 1-2 minutes then hose off to rinse away all the grit....then wet wash with Turtle Wax car wash (the one with wax in it)....rinse and blow dry with leaf blower...done in 45 min (Fat Boy). I usually stop there but if you want, you can also take a soft clean cotton cloth and buff the chrome/paint. The residual wax from the washing really makes the finish pop. I personally think you don't need no special bike-only products...just be sure you get alcohol-based wheel cleaner (Pep Boys, Wal-Mart) and not the acid-based stuff.
Simple Green Max...on a cold bike soak everything with Simple Green, let it soak for a few minuets and hit it with a pressure washer then a leaf blower, Micro fiber to detail the rest
just picked up the Mr. Clean auto dry, Use one bucket of clean water, spray the bike with the soap, use a sheep skin glove, rinse in the clean bucket as needed. very fast and effective, spray the filtered water and dry with leaf blower
If a bike is really dirty, I recommend using S100. Otherwise, regular car wash solution will work at a fraction of the price. (If you use S100, use lots of rinse water or it will leave a dull film. This is a common complaint.)
During a wash, I use a tapered spoke brush and a regular baby bottle brush to get into tight places. The brushes also help prevent cuts you can get on your hands from the fins on the motor. After the wash I use a JC Whitney Cycle Dryer.
