Painting your lowers over powder coat is they will need to be repainted after 2-3000 miles from getting hit by rocks and bugs. You might want to concider powder coating them then. Aside from that it is a great look for your bike. The caliper looks good too.

I think It would look good if you paint the triples, maybe some bolts and nuts, and headlight shell too...

curious why you didn't run your wires internally sense you had it apart...

I am going with chrome lowers but powder coating my factory set, in case I want to go further towards the darkside
I am going to order some apes pretty soon. I just did the bars for the heck of it. They won't be on too much longer. Now that I know I can paint and it will look okay I will be doing more in the future. I plan on doing the trees, headlight shell, shift linkage, shifter arm, brake lever, and the bolts on the fender struts. That was all I had time to do over the weekend.

Only thing I had to pull off was the front wheel and brake caliper. I left the forks on the bike. I used to blankets to cover everything up to where just the lower forks were exposed. I slid the fork boots up just a tad and taped them off. The whole job took about 4 hours.

I have considered that. I have spoke to several people on here and friends of mine who have painted theirs. They have all told me that theirs have held up pretty good. Even powdercoating chips after a while. My friend had his lowers powdercoated on his Street Bob and they are chipping. I spent a fraction of what he did and didn't have to take the forks apart. When they chip I can repaint them. Much easier fix then chipped powdercoating.

The back end will clean up nicely with a set of these...

I got the raw ones and rattle-canned them with wrinkle black.

Just painted my shift linkage and headlight trim ring. Too dark to take pics. I will post some in the morning. The shift linkage looks good in flat black. Almost looks invisible.
