Default dumb noob question

I have an 04 Deuce carbed. I have Rinehart pipes and I want to put an aftermarket air cleaner on. Everyone has told me that I will need a Power Commander and re-tune the bike. All of the Power Commanders I have looked at are for fuel injected bikes. Am I missing something here?

You're not missing anything.......Power commanders are only for Fuel Injected bikes..

You may need to rejet, but if you have pipes on there, I can't imagine your using the stock aircleaner...

With a carb you will need to rejet. Power Commanders are for electronic fuel injected bikes.

Re-jet and Dyno. Someone may be able to get you close on the needed jet size. Fuel management systems are for Electronic Fuel Injection. Had to do the same on my Quad after changing the pipe. I used a Dynojet kit. Heres a link for some Harley kits.

Be thankful, Your carb will be much cheaper to tune then FI. I buy jets and needles for less then $35 and that is at the stealer. First thing to do is some research on tuning. You can do jet changes in a few hours if you have never done it before. There are basic jet set ups that work well for most builds. If you are pretty much stock it should be real easy. And IMHO stay away from the kits. Buy the jets you need and don't do any mods to your carb.

+1 on all the info you've been told on here. But If you really want to buy a power commander , then go ahead and get it and then you could give it to me as it won't do you any good

LOL yeah

Back to the issue at hand...you need to rejet your carb, get it dynoed and you are good to go.

The PC is for those nifty electronic injection thingies hehe
