Question Thoughts on handlebar fringe.

I was looking to see what the "general" opinion was on tassels on handlebars. I just bought a 05 deluxe and the previous owner had the braided type on the clutch and brake levers. They go good with the overall set up of the bike. Part of me thinks they are kinda cool, the other part thinks they are gay. I've heard they are more popular in different parts of the country. What do you guys think?

I agree with the other part of you. That is just my opinion though, everyone has one.

I've got fringe on my clutch and brake levers. I also have a bit of fringe on my fender skirt, and will have some on my passenger footboards as well.

It's nostalgic, and a matter of choice. If everyone in the world were smart and liked the same thing, MOCO would only make 1 motorcycle. It would be a Black Heritage with fringe.

I have yet to have ANYone come up to my face and call me gay.

Just sayin'

Unless you're asking about something that the collective group overwhelmingly finds dangerous, the overall consensus will be to go with what you like. After all, its your bike. Sure we want others to appreciate it, but the finer points of customizing your ride should be decided based on what you like.

I say fringe your whole bike..seat,bars,grips,bags,pegs,engine guards, ect, ect. Then go out and buy your fringed chaps,jacket,gloves,helmet,ect....You know you want to so why not. IMO fringe is for the female...like i said IMO...everybody has thier own opinion...like it or not.

I remember last year i seen a Heritage stacked with bedazzled beeds and fringe everywhere..i mean everywhere. The guy looked like he was trying to be hardchore...cut sleeves, big ol cowboy biker boots,ect...Man i had to chuckle.. it looked strange seeing a guy like that riding a giant looken long haired black sheep.

Too each his/her own though...Good Luck and please post them pics.

All I can say is I agree with your one half. I will not tell you which half, as it is, in the end, your bike. You need to decide what is best for your bike. What attracts you to your bike.
