Rocker Riders, Step Inside.....
When I first started lookin' at bikes late last year, I really liked the looks of the '09 black denim regular Rocker (not the C) with the natural metal finish, and I was really stuck on that particular bike. But at the same time I was lookin' for a steal and figured I could get one on such a bike since everyone else likes the Rocker C's. I couldn't find anyone that had one, and no one wanted to cut me much slack at all on the C's that I could find.
So I ended up with a Dyna SG that I really do like and am very pleased with. No complaints at all. But this Rocker thing haunts me.
I hear a number of guys on some other forums who say they tried out the Rocker C before they bought their current bike, but really weren't crazy about the Rocker's ride.
I would never ask anyone to dis their own bike, but at the same time, I'm wondering what there is, if anything, unique about the Rocker's ride/comfort/handling level that would make for a recurring theme like that.
Does it ride like any other soft tail, or is there something different about it, and if so, what?

Ok, well I love the bike, the uniqueness of the look, and the ability to make it different than any other bike out there, but I hate the stock seat, if you buy the Rocker C, don't keep the stock seat, I tried to modify the seat myself, and that wasn't too successful, so I ordered the Danny Gray seat ( still waiting on it to arrive, should be here in week of so) and from what I've heard and read on this forum, and on the web, it totally changes the ride, and look, no more worries of sliding off of the bike, and a lot more comfort for your body, and butt lol. Besides the seat, it's one hell of a bike, and I love mine.
Have to agree with RaaDeuce, the stock seat sucks on the FXCWC, however, the stock FXCW seat is much better, and the Danny Gray is better yet. I would add that when I changed the front tire for a Metzeler ME 880 100/90H-19 and the rear tire for an Avon Cobra AV72 240/40VR-18 the ride got better and the cornering even better.
If you rode a HD before without the rear wide tire and ride a Rocker, cornering is way different you have to get used to it... And the stock seat sux.. Other than that dont know why they wouldnt like it... hmm
Yup, only dislike is the stock seat, just got a regular rocker seat which I hope to install this week. I love the ride and the unique look which makes it not your everyday Harley. Oh yeah the stock front blinkers are fugly too.

Now that makes perfect sense to me. I'd still like to have one, but I'm stuck on that denim black with the natural metal, and besides, I have one I need to pay off before I buy anything else!
At the age of 42, my Rocker C is my first ever bike so I am unable to compare it with others. All I can say is that its now a big part of my life and riding it is a magical experience, not to mention the great people I am meeting along the way. At 6'3 the DG seat did help, but moving the forward controls forward 2 inches make riding the Rocker extra special. Denim Black is nice, but Blue is faster!
The bottom line is you ride a Harley......you've got to be happy with that! Ride safe.
