Convinced my wife to go into the HD dealer with me today to pick up some new grips I wanted to get for my Street Bob. They had a Fat Boy Lo that she really liked, so much so, she told me to trade in my Street Bob to get it. I'm still a little in shock, and am not really sure what I want to do. I had an old Evo Road King for a few years which I loved, then replaced it with a used '06 Street Bob last summer to try something different. I really liked the Fat Boy Lo when I saw it in the fall, and had told my wife about it, but she had not seen it in person prior to today. Out of the three Harley's that I owned, only my first was new (a Sportster). I am a little nervous getting a brand new bike. I would be financing part of it. Any advice/experience anyone here have going from a Dyna to a Softail? Ergos seem very comfortable to me. Can't ride for some time yet as I live in Upstate NY. Any advice is appreciated.

My advice - keep the wife. Wish mine were as accommodating. Seems like I'm always in the doghouse whenever I get something for the bike or even think about getting a new bike.

 

I have a 07 stretbob but if could afford a fat lo I would make the move...

 

got the Fat Boy Lo about a month ago and love it.

 

Go with the softail man, you wont regret it

 

That's a tough one BigNick. Personaly, I like both Street Bobs and Fat Boy Los a lot. If I were buying new and money were not object, I would get the Fat Boy Lo. But, if I already had a Street Bob like you do, I doubt I would trade it in on the Lo. One thing about it, no matter which way you go you've still got a sweet bike.

 

Did you sit on the lo...that's what i really wanted, sat on it and it was way too lo and im about 5'11. sat on the regular fatboy...fit just right.

 

Street Bob looks way more wicked to me than the sloppy lo.

 

The softail guys get the cute girls! Well, doesn't matter in your (and my) case. Your SB looks good, but it still ain't a softail, dude. Go for the LO.

 

Go for the fat boy lo!
