So, after reading the reviews here and not being able to wait until I won a set for my Heritage Softail, I order a set on Tuesday night at around 9:30 EST. I checked my mail on Friday and to my surprise there they sat.

I put the extensions on and right away without riding could tell a difference. After riding I was completely surprised by the comfort of the ride. My only thing is and it is minor, I need to flip my heel toe shifter so the toe is out farther.

I ordered a set as well for my 2008 Fat Boy. I ordered them Monday night and they were here on Thursday.

I installed them Friday evening. I had to spread the front brackets on the bottom side of the floor boards a bit, but that was it. Dummy me didn't pay attention to the long & short bolts at first, so I got to redo the first one...

I rode for a bit today, trying to dodge the rain. It's gonna take some getting used to, but so far I like 'em. My issue was that my left boot was right up against the shifter arms - this certainly fixed that problem !!

I have to remember they're further out now, so I make sure I clear them when putting my feet up or down. The only part I don't care for is it's not as easy to put the kickstand up - putting it down is the same, but I have to feel for the kickstand to put it up because I can't see the end of it now. Not a big deal, just a change to get used to.

One suggestion to Harley Goodies on shipping - if you're paying extra for the USPS packaging tracking, I wouldn't bother... I signed up to receive updates by mail and I also checked the USPS site it every day. The only update was it had arrived at their center in CA, until they showed up at my door -- then several updates got posted. From my experience, if the tracking costs extra, I'd save the money...

I'm anxious to get some more miles on these to get used to them. I do like the more relaxed position for my feet.

These extensions are a fantastic product. The extra leg room provides a wider range of riding positions. The best mod you can make for additional comfort and you cannot beat the price. Great job Tom!!!

put mine on today. I got 'em in black for my 'Lo. It took me about 20 mins to install and immediately went out and did 100 mile trip. I removed my heel shifter and am waiting on the arrival of a Kury spacer so I can move my toe shifter out, I will move it up a couple of splines also. The extra room is amazing, I have so many more places to comfortably put my feet, I now need to work on my reach/bar issue.

For the price, these are an incredible value and my recommended starting point for addressing footboard vs. forward control issues...you might just find that for the 45.00, you dont need the FC's, save some coin and gain some comfort.

If someone would now make affordable extended shift levers/brake pedals...

Nice job!

I do not put that much of a lean to scrap my floorboards, have only did it once. With installing these on my Heritage and how far out they are now I would have to say yes. They extensions are designed to have a new pivit point but if you are leaning that far into a turn now to srape you will scrape before that point now.

With Softail Extensions you will reduce your lean angle by 1 degree. Also, these extensions will give you the same pivot points as stock. The first pivot point is where the extension brackets meet the floorboard pan, the second is where the extension bracket meets the support bracket that mounts to the frame. Please note that the second pivot will require some force as these extensions do not just flop around.
I hope this helps.

Tom

p.s. and for you Bagger guys wondering the same, FLH extensions will give you a 0.8 degree lean angle reduction.

See, the bones is lowered from the get-go...it is very easy to scrape as is.
