Question Samson Longtail true duals CrossBones Cross Bones leak problem WITH PICS!

Hi there fellas,

Slapped a set of Samson True Duals on my Cross Bones...

Wondering if I could get specific feedback from
someone with these pipes that has actually gone thru the install process
that may have run into this issue.........

Right side went great...
Left side (or, the rear cyl) was a pain as expected,,
but the problem I've encountered is

where the proximal (or first piece closest to the cyl) curved pipe
meets the 2nd piece (the one that wraps around the primary).

I have clamp installed at the suggested 8 o'clock position...
Cranked and cranked till it felt like the pipe would be crushed...

Tug on the 2nd piece pulling outwards... the junction separates. WTF

Not total separation, but slides off enough to cause a leak.
Put a finger in the vicinity, and you can feel the pfft pfft pfft

Any of y'all
-with a softail
-with Samson true duals
-that you installed yourself
run into this issue?

I pushed/slid the junction back together, re-tightened clamp,,,,,,, still slides off.

Lol, definitely not a Yosh or Akrapovic, that's for sure

Had the same issue man. Rear cyl leak, and it leaked from both O2 sensor ports, as well as the cross over. Besides that my kit didn't even line up to bolt to the rear braces that support the tail pipes. Garbage. I got them on ebay, no returns to refunds. I'm SOL. i called Samson, the sent me their header brackets, still leaked. They said I could buy a new set, but thats it. Garbage. I don't think they ever tried putting it on a X bones. if you get it to fit, let me know how. They are just collecting dust in the Garage. If some one wants them, they are for sale!

Maybe you could go buy a better clamp...if you lived close I would weld it together for you

I can't be of any real help installing them, other than to say that they do indeed fit on a Cross Bones so don't give up hope. My dealer installed mine so I have no info on installation specifics but they do fit, don't leak and sound ridiculously awesome.

that clamp looks pretty week. get one taht is wider and thicker. Use liberal amounts of Ultra copper at the joints of the pipes as well.

+1 for Ultra Copper at the joints...it does wonders and will not seize the joints.

You will be able to pull your pipes apart in the future, if needed, using Ultra Copper.

You could upgrade to a stronger OEM harley type clamp, but I think if you just go with the Ultra Copper your problem will be solved.
