Default Which Pipes for 2010 FLSTC

I know you have discussed this extensively, but need some help. I'm a recent convert from years of FLHR and have already made 1 huge mistake. I replaced factory pipes with what I was told to be "mellow" Cycle Shack slip ons. They sound good for those of you who don't need to converse or aren't already suffering from 40 years of playing rock and roll! For me, I need something somewhere in-between. What is your recommendation?

I went thru a similar situation on my '04 heritage. I had the SE 16-gauge double barrels on new from the dealer. To loud for my taste. I put on a stock 2002 springer dual setup with the fishtails. Very quiet. Evenutally I wanted more harley sounds so i bought a set of cycle shack fishtail slipons. To loud. Now I have a samson true dual head pipe setup with Rush staight cuts with 1.75" baffles. At first it seemed kind of loud but it is growing on me. At lower speeds putting thru town it still seems a little loud but at cruising speeds I love it.

Yeah I knew I was in trouble when my neighbor, who is almost deaf, asked me if I put new pipes on? I've pretty much run V&H on the King forever but want to get some good feedback from those with experience on this forum.

I have a set of Rush slipons with the 2" baffles. Not too loud plus you can change out the baffles for more or less loudness.

It really depends on what you consider LOUD, but cycle shacks are not quiet by any stretch of the imagination. What kind of look are you going for?

The look of slip on's is OK with me. I like the look of straight cut with end caps that Rush slip ons have, but I'm open to all options. Bottom line is i'm looking for sound enhancement over stock, but less than CC. I had Wild Pigs and V&H on my previous Kings that were perfect. The CC's at start up, (particularly in the garage) sound like a shotgun blast.
