Default Heritage Comfort for Wife :-)

Love my 09 Heritage Classic but the wife's behind gets sore after a (what I consider) short ride. Would like some ideas on seats and backrests to improve her comfort. An sore wife makes for a sore life LOL. Was wondering if there is anything similar to a touring bike add on when we ride two up?

Can't wait to see the replies you get on this one. Is completely changing out seats an option? If so, I'm thinking you will have to change your seat too, in order to change her seat. Two really good seat makers are Mustang and Ultimate. There are others as well. You can search on this forum for more info or simply google to find their websites. I have an '08 Heritage. My wife and we both love it. No comfort problems at all. I have a Mustang 17.5" Vintage Wide Solo Seat with driver's backrest and the 14" wide rear seat for her, along with the Mustang sissy bar backrest pad. If changing the stock seats is not an option, due to cost or other reasons, or you if like the stock driver's seat, then simply swapping out the rear seat for a more comfortable one (HD would have some options) would also be an option. It kind of boils down to whether or not you want to keep the stock set-up on your bike. People end up changing out seats on touring bikes as well, so this is not an uncommon problem. Hope this helps a little......and yes, a sore wife, makes for a sore life. Very true.

I bought my wife the wide touring passenger pillion from the moco, she does 500 mile days without complaining .I thought about a whole different seat but I'm ok with the stock seat ,and if she is happy I am happy.

If you guys want a new seat contact me as I can get you one at a discount. We sell a lot of Mustang's. I can get the Harley ones for you too, but I need the part nubmers to check pricing.

My wife has her own ride. Problem solved. LOL.

I thought maybe that higher pillion on the 09s would be better than the 08 but I guess not. I went with the 14" pillion by Mustang and it is 1000% better than the stock. Like sitting on a sofa so says the wife.

Was originally going to go with the 11" because I thought there would be problems opening the lids on my bags but the vendor was sold out so I went with the 14". No issues with the bags. The 11" would definitely look better on the bike but I'm not sure how much comfort is compromised.

I'm pretty sure you can get the pillion by itself but I'd check to make sure. I got the whole setup w/ 17.5" seat and backrest but the pillion was the biggest improvement over stock.

Here's a pic to give you some idea of what the 14" pillion looks like on the bike.

Great set-up you have. Do you like the Heritage Tour Pak luggage? Likes, dislikes?
