Scraping on my Heritage

Scraping on my Heritage
Recently rode 3 major twisties in NC mountains on my 08 FLSTC. Namely SR63, SR151 and SR209. I rode these roads with 2 "Baggers". My bike was the ony one that adjusted the ground clearance with every turn. In other words, they were running slightly faster than me, but my bike was the only one that scraped the floorboards (mounts). What gives? I don't want to keep tearing up my bike, but I don't want to be stuck riding the straight and narrow the rest of my life. Fellow Heritage riders, what can I do? I am old but I'am not ready for the rocking chair yet.
Thanks,
Parrothead

Counter lean. If that is a term anyhow. What I am saying is you exagerate the lean kind of like you see in superbike races. Make your body lean further into the lean allows the bike to stand up a bit and still make the corner. Another thing is were you carving the right line through the corners? Start wide, in at apex and exit wide again.

I went from an Ultra, and use to scrape those floor boards. When I got my Heritage I thought I was going to rip them off the first week. I've learned to do what I call pushing it through turns. I still lean but swing out a little more. Sometimes I still scrape, but i wouldn't worry about it. That's just your bike telling you that this is your lean limit. Enjoy.... So you buy new floor boards every couple of years.

When I get in the mountains on the good twisties I scrape my floorboards. My wife calls them my lean angle indicators. It doesn't hurt them, it just grinds them a little on the bottom. I know the first time I scraped them, it sure woke me up! My wife keeps telling me our Heritage is not the Sporty.
