Ive got a 2010 heritage, got it about this time last year.
Due to deaths in the family and other things I havnt ridden as much as id like, so ive only got a little over 3000 miles on it.
I did the 1000 mile service and had dealer do synthetic in all three holes.
My problem is, that lately I seem to have alot of vibration at highway speeds.
Im running 60 and twist the throttle and it really vibrates in the bars and footboards.
Also, ive noticed when getting on it in like third gear the engine guard will vibrate back and forth and ive checked it and its tight.
So, my question is, whats going on?
It didnt vibrate like this before.
Im planning on going to the dealer and setting up a time for saturday that the head tech can ride it and see what he has to say.
You need to get the manual and go down the list of critical fastners that they re tightend during the 1000 mile service and see if they did not do the things the right way... when you get your bike from the service unless you were there physically all the time seeing how they worked your bike I would go through the entire list of fastners they would have touched during the service and torque it as per the specs in the manual..
I don't believe it's your motor. Sounds more like road vibration, possibly tire pressure or out of balance.
I thought of that but it doesnt vibrate if I let off the throttle and pull in the clutch.
also, when the bike gets hot then the engine sounds like a banging in the cylinder when you give it the gas.
i have a 10 heritage and its smooth unless im in too high of a gear. Id let them fix that baby under warrenty something is not right
talked with the head mechanic today and hes got me scheduled for tuesday the 17th.
Thats when the owner will be back from sturgis and hes going to have a couple diffenernt techs ride it without telling them what to look for and see what thay find.
Then the head tech is going to ride it and see what its doing and maybe the owner will also.
I take care of my stuff, dont abuse it at all, hell the owner is riding my old electraglide in sturgis right now.
When I traded it in he decided he wanted it for his bike, so hopefully they will find out whats going on and get it fixed.
I bought it on august the 14th of 09, it was the first 2010 heritage they sold.
Is the engine guard welds cracked.. they shouldn't be moving either.
some times my pant legs whip in the wind at higher speeds sometime it feels like a vib but its not.
