The bearings started rattling on my Roadking at 110,000 miles. My neighbor's Electraglide started rattling at the same mileage. It will keep going but gets progressively worse.

Lots of EVOS go over a 100,000 before doing anything to the engine. Yours is old enough to have a good cam brg., but the old style lifters. I would change out the lifters to the later "B" lifters before you get 30,000 on it. They may go a lot farther than that, but some haven't.

I rebuilt the top end at 52,000.Had head gasket leak, decided to put rings in while i was at it.No wear on them.No problem with lifters either.

I just turned 60000 a week ago on my 08 Heritage. Only problem I've had was the stator at 20000. I hope I didn't just jinx myself.. LOL

1000 miles a year..... probably not something you will have to worry about in your lifetime....
