I used to use a roll bag on the bars on long trips, but this last trip I left it at home. I saw no difference. I was rolling for 110 for a bit. Ooops. Had to test out the 95".

I have 16" apes and 80 to 85 feels fine, i hated going over 50 on the sporty i had so i find that part of your statement kind of weird

also what helmet you wear. i get the wind blast from under the windshield.

If you ride regular, at decent highway speed it will be a case of when not if you damage your hearing. Wind noise is the killer not loud pipes. What sort of helmet you have and whether you have a well fitting (to you) windshield or not a factor too. I ride with an Arai fullface helmet (I like my face too much) I dont seem to bother with my windshield anymore and always wear plugs on long high speed trips.

This was my guess as well. Its not just alittle different than both of my buddies bikes its alot different. Makes me feel like its a poor design!!
