Default Lucas? Amsoil? ...other?

My indy said "..Let's go synthetic oil in your bike"
I assume he knows better...I said "sure".
Lucas oil in all three holes.
btw...could be my imagination but it appears to run quiter with synthetic

My question;
Is one synthetic oil better than other brands?
Lucas? Amsoil?

I'd appreciate any comments.

I use Mobil 1 V-Twin 20/50 in the engine and Dino oil in the trans and Primary. So I use a different type oil in all three holes. Drag Specilties makes my primary oil and my trans oil. I think the trans is 85W-140.

Can you run the same oil in the tranny and the primary?

I'm an amsoil faithful. Got It in my engine and primary. Use the severgear in my tranny and their fork oil upfront! Love the stuff.

Use Redline 20/50W synthetic in all three holes and never been happier. Amsoil, Redline, Lucas, Mobil 1 and Royal Purple are all fine synthetic oils and wouldn't go wrong with either. It's up to you whether you want to run the same in all 3 holes but I've been doing it for the last 70K and no problems whatsoever. Good luck

Lucas 20W-50 ....for Engine / Trans / Primary ( says so right on the container )

Do you change Trans and Primary as often as engine? Some people do, but wouldn't it be over-kill?

with synthetic...what are the suggested change intervals?

I change the engine oil every 3000 miles or so and the trans / primary every 5000.. Might be overkill but don't want to chance it.

Lucas "MAKES" a synthetic just for Harley. I used it and my motor is quiet as all H$ll. Make sure you get the synthetic for HD and all is good. I ran this stuff in my Drag motors (car) from day one and never had a problem. Some will bad mouth it but I have ripped down motors after using it and have been impressed with the conditions. I have run small block Chevy's in the 10"s and never had an issue so it is fine for your HD! Just my 2 cents worth!
