2000 Heritage loses electrical power on hwy
I have a 2K Heritage. It lost electrical power twice on the interstate this weekend while riding 2up doing about 80 on interstate for about 50-60 miles. Engine didn't appear to be overheating, oil temp never got above 250. Power was lost totally for about 15 secs both times and came back on before I had to stop. Clutch was left out so motor was turning when power came back on so engine re-fired. I have read several forum posts that point to ignition or main circuit breaker. The breaker being the cheapest, I'll try it first. The ignition can be taken apart and cleaned and new elect. grease applied. Hoping this or some input will correct this problem.....thanks

Update....Replaced circuit breaker and the problem wasn't corrected. Worked my way to the ignition switch, which is able to be taken apart and cleaned. Sanded the contacts and reapplied electrical grease, problem corrected. Keem this in mind everyone, don't necessarily spend $130+ when you can take it apart and clean your ignition switch. It's not a sealed unit, and can get wet either in rain or when washing.......
