I have a '94 Heritage I just picked up in the last few weeks. Appears to be all stock except for a Screaming Eagle Air filter set up. Stock CV carb.
I am putting on a set of Screaming Eagle turn out slip on mufflers. Plan to keep the stock exhaust pipes with the crossover. At least for now. I am in So. New England so altitude not an issue.
What do you all suggest for jets with this mostly stock set up?
Also, needle jet from the '88 Sporty I have been reading about?
That's not that much of a change, if it's running good now and you add the SE slip-ons I would ride it first. You will probably find you want to up the low speed to a 45 and drill out the idle mixture so you can adjust it.
The sporty needle, shims and etc. can be saved until you do a stage 2.
I agree; On my 99 FXSTC, I upped the pilot jet from a 42 to 45, and the main from 175 to 180. I do have drag pipes and K&N air cleaner, but the bike runs perfect, and the plugs have a little tan with mostly white. I get around 48 to 52 mpg. I set the mixture screw in the middle of to rich to lean at idle.
