DOT 4 caused my rear MC cover paint to start coming off from where some puked out of the vents. Stupid crap LOL. I always keep that area clean but I missed it that time. I painted it up and looks good as new. Sorry kinda off topic but it was annoying.

Who said anything about putting it on his paint, isn't that what rice rockets are supposed to be for?

I have to agree, if the color has changed that much and you needed to add a bit.
It may be a good time to pull/replace the pads and flush out the system.
Especially if you live up north like me and the bikes basically parked because there's a couple of feet of snow in the driveway.

It was low because i just installed 16" apes and cables .

That would be a good reason for needing more fluid.
But it still wouldn't hurt to flush the system out, especially now that you have a big can of new stuff just sitting on the shelf.

Tidbit, of course that's extreme, but if someone absolutely had to know which it was, that would be the answer.
Citoriplus explained it a little bit better. lol
