RE: Blowing auxiliary light bulb on 06 deluxe
I have the same problem with my spot lights,if you are using the better halogen lamps they blow out even faster than the cheaper ones.My dealer told me that Wagner makes the lamps and are much cheaper than the ones from Harley. They claim the lamps are not designed for the vibrations from the bike.

I was losing them every 500 as well. Almost exclusively the left one. Turned out a bad ground (dealer found under warranty but it did make all my lights brighter!) fixed it to last longer, but then it started again.
Dealer replaced left side light under warranty(insides only) and its been 2k now with no blown light.
I got to the point where I was carrying an extra bulb all the time. Mine are never off.

My passing lamps have never blown. My bike is only three months old but I have 5,000 miles on her. I do have a problem with my right running light/turn signal. The running light filament keeps blowing out. I've tried Drag bulbs, harley bulbs, heavy duty bulbs from Napa...they just keep blowing and they last less than 100 miles.

The first 3000 miles on my bike I blew the left spot 3 times and then the right at about 3000 miles. Took it back to the dealer the first 3 times and they checked it out , could find no problems except the bulb was blown. The Service guy told me that they have seen a lot of bad bulbs and they replaced them for N/C every time. Since the 3000 mile mark almost a year ago I have 10,400 milse on the bike and have not blown another bulb. I run with them on all the time., I have the halogen bulbs
