Tommy Meisel,we took onboard the experiences you've had on other makes as well as h-d just what needed to hear, and your right other makes have their good points, but none give you that feeling in the pit of your stomach that a harley will, cheers.

Helen, hello from Oklahoma. I bought an '05 Softail Heritage Classic (cousin to the Deluxe) in June '05, rode it 25,000 miles, until August '06, never did anything to it except change fluids and had it serviced by the dealer. I rode it to Sturgis, 900 miles. Coming home, we stopped at the HD dealership in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I got a wild hair and traded it in on an '07 Ultra Classic and rode it home. I presently have 5,000 miles on it, no problems at all. Incidentally, don't pay any attention to all these nervous nellies that say the '07s are trouble. Just get on and ride. Your husband's friends are jealous now and will certainly be more so when he rides up on the Deluxe. Who wants a plastic rice burner wannabe with only copycat character when you can ride a genuine Harley Davidson!

helen, you need to tell your husband not to pay attention to what those nerds are saying. Tell them to go **** up a rope. My HD Deluxe is the best yet, and Ive had a bunch of em over the years.[8D]

Hi Helen, I have 21,800 miles on my '03 FXST, and my only repair besides routine maintenece has been a new tailight assy. due to corosion. Be confident the Late model Harley is a reliable machine indeed.

Maybe the people giving him the advice are still living in the past. Harley did have that reputation many years ago. Today's Harleys are just as reliable as any other bike on the road. Three previous rice burners then my Heritage. No problems at all with it and it definately has a personality of its own. Something special about a Harley. Tell your husband to buy the Deluxe and he'll find out for himself what all these other Harley owners already know. Good luck with whatever you guys choose.
