Ya that sounds about right FBV, I usually hit 6th at around 110kph and still tons of throttle left!

Yes SPEED to RPM was my question. The shifting guidelines in the manual I believe are for the break in period to keep RPM low. I am just trying to get an idea of the RPM/SPEED range in certain gears...

Here what I got from using the above nightrider calculator for my 07 Heritage..

At 2k,,, 1st - 6th gear..
(15.7 - 22.8 - 30.7 - 37.3 - 44.8 - 52.5) mph

At 3k...1st - 6th gear
(23.6 - 34.2 - 46. - 56. - 67.1 - 78.7) mph

Cursing at 55 mph in 5th, and 65 mph in 6th rpm is 2500 rpms.
Cursing at 75 in 6th is 2875 rpms...

Hi
I have a 2016 Forty-Eight with standard tank but with Vance and Hines, map upgrade. I'm forever at the pump filling up, I don't know whether I'm beasting the bike through the gears or there is a mapping problem. The light comes on when I reach about 60 miles. Can anyone give me a clue as to when I should change up and down at what speed, sounds ridiculous to ask such a question but I've never had a Harley before and am completely confused because all other bikes I've owned I've known when to change up and down. Please help I'm keeping Shell in business at the moment, many thanks
Regards
Mark

To know this excatly you need the Primary gearing, the gearbox gearing and the final gearing... and the diameter of the rear-wheel

Than it is just multiplying them as required to find the right selection.

Unfortunately, that sounds about right to me. I have a 2017 48 with stage 1 and the light comes on between 50 and 60 miles. You could try to make your fuel map leaner to save a little gas, but im not sure it would make a hige difference.

Even in stock form, this bike probably only gets around 40 mpg. That means you run out around 80-90 miles.

These bikes just are really only meant for local around town riding.
