Default Aftermarket Trees / Fork Lock question

Hi , This question is to anyone using aftermarket trees such as Pro-1 etc..
I have an 04 Softail Standard and I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a set of 3 degree raked trees with a 1" stem and external fork stops . My question is what to do with the fork lock ? If I leave it in the unlocked position can I leave it in ? Or will I have to remove it all together and plug the hole in the frame ? Any info. will be appreciated . Thanks -Gary

I answered on the other forum, but you can leave the lock in and keep it unlocked, or you can machine the new stem for the lock to operate.

I wish I had asked that question before putting mine on. I think that I would have had mine machined.

Chuck , Thanks for the reply , I really like your bike . I have read a lot of your posts and I'm sure I will be asking you many more questions as time goes buy ..LoL

Story- I have also read a lot your posts . I read were you are using 3 degree trees and have -2 in your forks , Did you just lower your stock forks 2" with springs or did you actually use -2" tubes ?

Thanks everyone -Gary

Gary, yes I'm running 3* trips that I was lucky enough to get from Chuck...
and I'm am running -2 tubes, plus a progressive drop in lowering 2" kit in them.
Thanks, Chuck's post are better then mine. He's much OLDER and wiser... lmao
