Default 2011 Softail Recall

Wife recently purchased 2011 Deluxe w/ABS and Security, been waiting on delivery for 2 wks as dealer claims they need to test ride it first. Recently read somewhere that there is a recall on some 2011 softails, anyone know which ones. Ran VIN thru HD website which shows nothing, anyone got any specifics on this recall? thanx

The recall effects 6,964 2011 Softail models produced between June 2010 and October 2010 whose motorcycles feature security system kits accessories. New purchasers of the models will be receiving written notice.

These particular motorcycles feature a defect in the body control module that result in an incomplete seal. As a result, there is a possibility of water seepage into the module, which in turn will result in engine stalls. If the rider is operating the motorcycle when the stall occurs, a (potentially deadly) crash is possible.

Harley-Davidson explains that -thus far- they are aware of only two warranty claims but did not result in any accident or injuries.

It does not apply to just security system equipped bikes, as mine was in the recall and has neither.
