2010 Deluxe Noise between 25-30 MPH
Hey all...
First off I Do know it is hard to analyze a noise without hearing it yourself, but thought maybe someone else may have had the same thing happen. I will do my best to describe what is going on.
My clutch and cables have Not been replaced of messed with since I bought my bike, so this is something that occured on it's own.
I did change to Synthetic Mobil 1 75w-90 at 1000 miles.
When I drive between 25-30 I hear a screech sort of noise or a week...week...week...week (say it fast, that's what I hear) noise.
Once I get above 30 it goes away. If I pull in the clutch and coast it goes away. I had my friend drive it last night after a ride, and he heard the same thing, so I am not any more nuts than I already am...lol
To me, it sounds like it is coming from the clutch area, but my hearing is not the best, so it could be elsewhere. My friend said it sounds close to that area as well, but not totally positive.
My bike is still under warrenty, but I would hate to not have my bike for a week or so, especially if it is a simple fix.
I have thought about moving up to 75W-140 if anyone thinks that will help.
I am mechanically inclined, have tools, and yes I do have, and have read the manual!!!
Any suggestions would be helpful

I would take it back to the dealer. It is most likely some small problem or minor adjustment. If its under warranty why not.I hear you about you dont want your bike laid up for a week.Do you have any local Indy's you can drop by and maybe pick their brain and ask what they think. My Indy is a cool dude and is always willing to help.I wish I even had a guess for you. But like you said it is very difficult to figure out unless you are there in person. Good Luck
Thanks for the response!
It will be next week before I can have them come get it, the weather is perfect for riding.
There used to be 2 locations of the same dealer here, but the closed the one closest to me down and consolidated. They do provide free pick up and delivery.
