Default Operator error:

Ok I go to start the Bones and the battery is dead... I left the dam switch on again.. This is the second time I have done this. Never happened when I used to have a key to start her up... The key-less ignition is great I don't have to worry about loosing the key or scratching the tank, but now since I dont have to retrieve the key... If this happens again I am going to have to shoot someone... Well at least I was smart enough to put in a battery tender lead....
SO... Does anybody know of a battery that will last a couple of hours and not drain down completely?? ?

try making the habit of turning off the bike in the ignition switch rather than the run/off button?

+1 here. The kill switch is for shutting off the bike if it's lying on top of you. (Never used it yet.) The ignition switch is for shutting off the bike under all other circumstances.

Besides, don't you see the headlights burning and don't you lock the ignition?

I've done that since Shep was a pup. The run/kill switch is prone to failure.

I park the bike with the rear facing the house so when I jump off I am looking at the house not walking around the front of the bike looking at the headlamp, so maybe I will not swing the bike around when I pull in.

That's my point with the key-less ignition I forget to look at the switch, because I have no key to take out (like in the old days) I never lock the ignition. I got into the habit of just hitting the kill switch and I usually turn off the ignition but every once in a while I forget to turn it off... so I have to retrain myself.....

Step one TURN OFF IGNITION
STEP TWO SEE STEP ONE...
OK that should do it...

Kill switch is for emergencies. Don't use it. Shut it off like you would a car. And lock your ignition - ALWAYS!

Shoot yourself first.

Hit the kill switch with your right hand thumb then turn the center switch.

It is not that difficult. Just do it.
