Default Extending forward controls

I have an 05 Night Train. Looking to extend my forward controls for some more leg room. Got my eye on the Arlin Ness kit. If you have this kit, do you like it? Anyone else have a different extension kit that you like?

I had the Kuryakyn kit on a Softail a few years ago. Pretty good quality.

Never saw the Ness one, though.

I have the Ness kit, was one of the first things I did when I bought my bike. No problems, good quality kit, comes with the coated braided stainless rear brake line, and an unfinished extended shift rod. Install was simple, and it made a hell of a difference in comfort for me.

what Havana said, Ness was best bang for the buck for quality, finish, etc

I have the ness kit. Great product and much better, I am over 6ft and made a real difference.

+1 on the Arlen Ness. I'm 6"2" and it helps alot. Good quality, easy install. Put some speedbleeders on while you're at it.

There are also kits made by Joker Machine and Cycle Visions. The Ness comes with the brake line where as the Cycle Visions version does not. Accutronix also makes one that is only the brackets, no linkage or brake line according to the picture in the fatbook.

Had the Ness kit on but it was too much with my Hearland kit on as it also moved the seat back a couple inches. I got the Ness kit used without the brake line but was able to bend the stock brake line to fit fine although it was sort of a stretch. I have since given the kit to my cousin. A guy could make the same set of extended plates on his own if he was handy and had the proper tools. Can't remember what the Ness kit costs but if it's more than $150 I'd be inclined to make the stuff myself.

Default I have the same problem

If you want a plate go with Ness. I am looking at Battistinis and Performance Machine. I think accutronics is off my plate too. Before I shell out this kind of cash, I am looking for some solid advice also. Let's hope it is out there.

I put the Ness kit on over two years ago and it is still one of the best additions for comfort that I have made.
