I just got back from a trip and on the way there I was experiencing a front end wobble with my bike. this is something I have not experienced in the past. It was happening between 78 and 85 mph.
I had my bike loaded down for 5 days with a roll bag on the bars and a my t bag on the sissy bar. It was a lot of weight that I am not sued to carrying. Every time we stopped for gas on the way out I was scratching my head trying to figure out where the wobble was coming from. i was thinking something was coming loose casuing it. I did not figure it out on the way to our destination.
But, the next day I decided to move my roll bag to the sissy bar and see if that changed anything. Bingo! That was it. Apparently the wind hitting the bag had enough resistance at that speed to give the bike a wobble. So needless to say for the rest of the trip the roll bag staying in the bag and everything was fine.
Okay, I tried something new on the way home too. Traffic cmae to a standstill on teh 40 in 110 desert heat. No problem, I'll split lanes. I started to split and noticed that everyone else in my group was riding on the shoulder. I brought up the rear and we must have ridden like that for 4 miles. I thought I had done it all, but there is always something new.
