I went to the local HD store and fell in love with the denim black fatboy lo.
It is a 2011 and they still have it listed at MSRP, they had a Blackline next to it with a discounted price as they had 4 of them left. Wondering if they are dealing on most 11's now that the 12's are coming. Think I will make an offer but not sure what to offer them.

i beleive i'd hold out for a 2012, my buddy just bought one a few weeks ago for 17k, and he said the dealer told him all the 2012's come with the 103" engine now

 

I have seen some dealers in the area with big deals on the 11's.

 

I got my 2010 around this time last year, and got it over $2,000 off

 

Try and get a deal on the '11. The 12's have the 103" yeas, but something about a fiberglass fender set really pisses me off. $.02

They are basically the same MSRP. What are they gonna give you $500? maybe $1000 off MSRP, if you really sweet talk em?
You will eventually want to upgrade your engine, this one comes with a 103 already done and under warranty. I read on a post that some guy went to the dealer and they said $3,500 for the upgrade. They aren't gonna give you a 2011 for $3,500 off the MSRP.


Don't shortchange yourself and just get the 2012 or......... You'll be sorry!!!!!!

I have a 2012 Fat Boy Lo and I can confirm with 100% certainty, that it DOES NOT have a fiberglass front fender. It is still metal, just like on the previous ones. But the rear fender is either fiberglass or some type of plastic. Couldn't tell till I tapped on it with my fingers. To me, one less thing to worry about rusting.

 

what?? you don't like Honda fenders?

 

If you want a new bike, I would get a 12. Yes the 103 is nice but realistically it can still benefit from heads and a cam to get it running.

So if the 11 would save you $2k but the big bore would eat that up, you are at break even and you can go right to a stage II build.

 

Hang in there for the 2012.
